Lavrov advises Western countries not to obstruct the formation of the Syrian Constitutional Commission
ARK News: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has advised Western countries not to block the formation of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, specifying to form a new constitution in Syria.
Lavrov told a news conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Jawad Zarif on Wednesday, May 8th, said "I advise countries that sometimes criticize the formula of Astana, and demand that the negotiations have to begin in Geneva as soon as possible, not to obstruct the completion of work in the formation of the Constitutional Committee."
The Russian minister said that the constitutional committee was expected to start, in January 2018, but many Western countries prevented its formation because of the tightening of lists.
