ARK News: The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria held its regular meeting on May 5, 2019. After standing a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of Kurds and Kurdistan and martyrs of freedom and discussed the points on its agenda:

In the political field, the Secretariat reviewed the political developments that deal with the Syrian situation, in general, the Kurdish issue in particular, and what the parties call the eastern Euphrates, which includes Kurdish areas, and considered the slowdown of the political process and non-activation means damages to the Syrians and increase in their suffering, it also regrets the postponement of the formation of the Constitutional Committee, which Astana could not overcome this node, which is invoked by the regime and the Syrians hope, since its inception, the beginning of a process on the way to achieve the desired political solution,

The Secretariat reiterated that the best way out of the crisis which is faced by the Syrians and ending terrorism, which affects its evils the region and the world, is to activate the political process with international effort and care and ensure it.

It also called on the international community and the concerned countries to stop the violations committed by the armed groups against our people in Afrin and called for their removal, handing over the administration of the area to its people and providing international protection for them.

In the efforts exerted to find a Kurdish understanding on the one hand and understanding all components in East Euphrates on the other hand, the Secretariat appreciated those efforts as well as France's efforts in this direction and called for cooperation and interaction with its initiative in a positive manner.

The Secretariat condemned the kidnapping of Mr. Mohamed Ayo, head of the local council of the Kurdish National Council of the western neighborhood Qamishlo city, where an armed group of the PYD raided his house on Friday night 3/5/2019 and took him to an unknown destination,

It stressed that such acts, which these groups used to practice, fall within the framework of the failure of efforts in the direction of finding understanding and the Kurdish class, and demanded his release, and carried the PYD the responsibility of his continued detention.

The Secretariat discussed the work of its subsidiary offices and called for the development of their functioning, and took the necessary decisions for that.
