The Office of Women and Childhood of the Kurdish National Council honors some women in Qamishlo city

ARK News: On the occasion of International Mother's Day, the Office of Women and Childhood in the Kurdish National Council held on Thursday 2/5/2019 in Qamishlo city a ceremony honoring some women who have a history in the struggle and liberation of Kurdish women.

At the beginning the attendants were welcomed by Mrs. Sa’dia Ibrahim, She then spoke about the role of Kurdish women in the development and advancement of society and that women are a fundamental pillar in society and have contributed to the advancement of the role of women at all levels during the Syrian revolution.

After that, some women were honored for their efforts and their distinguished role.

Among the women who have been honored are: (Suaad Cigerxwin - Fasla Youssef - Nisreen Chato - Shams Khan - Arya Juma - Dilbar Harsan - Mizgin Oso – Saadia Ibrahim - Wafaa Kurdi - Aziza Farho).

Ms. Fasla Youssef said: "I am very proud of this honor, and in turn I owe it to all the Kurdish women and to all the mothers of the martyrs, and our responsibility has become great towards our people and we will continue our struggle until freedom for our people is achieved and we live in a pluralistic democratic Syria."

Youssef continued saying: "The Kurdish woman has struggled from the old days to the present day and I wish her freedom and independence and continue her struggle."

On her part, Arya Juma talked saying: "Today we celebrate these women of their efforts for their people in and 88 countries celebrate of the world every May, and it is a pride for the mother to celebrate her day, and we hope that women will reach to the best levels”.
