America: the war on Da’esh entered into a new phase
ARK News: The United States has announced a new stage in the war on Da’esh, stressing that it will work to drain the sources of funding the organization and the prosecution of its remnants.
Nathan Siles, counterterrorism coordinator at the US State Department said on Tuesday, at a seminar at the Brookings Institution in Washington: "Da’esh is still a threat and has the ability to attack us and our allies”.
The US State Department's counterterrorism coordinator said that both Da’esh and Boku Haram were responsible for the deaths of 35,000 people since 2012.
Nathan Siles' statement comes a day after the first appearance of the Da’esh leader, Abu Bakir al-Baghdadi, since 2014, in an attempt analysts saw as an attempt to break out of the defeat and reshape a new image of the terrorist organization after the loss of territory that it controlled on it.
