The resignation of the head of the Shiye Council in Afrin of his post
ARK News: The head of the Local Council of Shiye town of the Kurdish region of resigned from his post on Wednesday, 17/4/2019 without further details.
Ahmed Hassan, the head of the Council of Shiye town published on his official page on Facebook:
"Despite my resignation, I believe that the local councils in Afrin region are better served their region people in these difficult special circumstances"
The reasons for the resignation of Ahmed Hasan, the head of the council of Shiye town, are still unknown.
Since the formation of the seven local councils (the city center of Afrin - Rajخ - Shiye - Jenderes - Mabata - Shara - Bulbul) during the war in April of the year 2018 and these councils are subjected by the armed groups to harassment and violations, where Ahmed Sheikho, the deputy head of the council of Shiye town, was martyred on 11/6/2018 as a result of the torture that he was subjected to by al-Amsha militias. Others were also severely beaten and some of them were sent to prison on flimsy charges.
