A statement on the arrests and raids in Derik area and its villages

ARK News: A group of armed men belonging to the PYD and with their various names the Kurdish village of “Bani Shikafte” near the Iraqi border in the Derik area on the afternoon of 4-10-2019 and at nightfall, the village was raided in searching for young people amid threats and intimidation of the people, where the armed group arrested four members of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria PDK-S and they are Bassam Abdul-Qadir, Sipan Mohammed Ahmed, Nori Youssef Khanjar, Rashid Mihtaj Omar and they are still in detention, in addition to Mivan Abdullah Kalash. And the confiscation of a number of individual pieces of weapons that were held by the people amid the spread of fear and horror among the villagers with the force of arms.


In addition to the call and arrest of a number of members of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party - Syria from Derik area and they were released after the insults and directing the words of betrayal against the members and leaders of the Kurdish National Council in Syria as usual, in order to cover their political and administrative failure.

We in the Kurdish National Council in Syria condemn, and strongly denounce these terrorist practices against the Kurdish citizens, especially members and cadres of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, we call on the international community, human rights organizations and Kurdish parties to pressure on the PYD to stop these horrific practices against the Kurdish activists and our people to release all of their detainees and reveal the fate of the kidnapped, and that these practices serve only the enemies of our people and those who prey on it, nor will it discourage us from our struggle for the realization of the national rights of our Kurdish people in Kurdistan Syria.
