Turkish Defense Minister stresses the need to end the existence of the PYD east of the Euphrates
ARK News: Turkish Defense Minister Khalosi Akar said that the PYD militants in the east of the Euphrates in Syria pose a danger to Turkey and its borders, stressing the need to end their presence.
"We cannot accept the existence of the PYD on the southern border of our country," Akar said, adding that Turkey has taken and will take the necessary measures in this regard.
The Turkish minister stressed that his country expects from the parties concerned to abide by their commitments to the east Euphrates and the area of "Manbij" northern Syria, as soon as possible.
He pointed out that "the presence of the PYD in East Euphrates must end because they threaten our country, our nation, and our borders and put them at risk”.
Akar claimed that Turkey is looking to establish a safe area with a depth of 30 - 40 kilometers in the region and placed under the control of the Turkish army to ensure security and stability.
