ARK News.. A delegation from the Kurdish National Council (KNC) Representation in the Kurdistan Region met with officials from the Refugee Residency Center in Erbil to discuss the situation of Syrian refugees and the challenges they face, with particular focus on the high cost of medical tests required for residency renewal.

The delegation, representing the KNC's Committee on Relations in the Kurdistan Region, raised concerns over the financial burden imposed by mandatory medical examinations, stressing the need to address the issue and seek practical solutions.

The delegation also emphasized the importance of following up on the matter with the Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Interior to identify appropriate measures that would ease the burden on refugees.

For his part, Colonel Akam Mustafa, Director of the Refugee Residency Center in Erbil, welcomed the delegation and underscored the importance of continued coordination, constructive proposals, and joint efforts to improve services and facilitate procedures for refugees.

Mustafa said that Syrian Kurdish refugees are "family and brothers" who are in their second homeland, among their own people, and "are not guests." He also affirmed that the center would follow up on the proposals and observations presented by the delegation.

The meeting concluded with both sides stressing the importance of maintaining regular coordination and holding periodic meetings to ensure better services and support for refugees.
