Kurdish National Council Condemns Terrorist Bombing in Damascus
ARK News.. The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council (KNC) in Syria condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a café near the Palace of Justice in Damascus, saying such attacks threaten not only their immediate victims but also the security of citizens and the country's overall stability.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 2, 2026, the KNC said the attack struck a café near the Palace of Justice in the Syrian capital, killing six lawyers and injuring several others.
The council strongly condemned what it described as a terrorist act targeting innocent civilians, stating that such crimes are aimed at spreading fear, undermining civil peace, and destabilizing the country at a critical stage that requires all Syrians to work together to protect social cohesion, strengthen security and stability, and ensure the success of the transitional period.
The KNC extended its condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to their colleagues in the judiciary and legal profession, while wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
The statement stressed that confronting terrorism in all its forms, protecting civilian lives, upholding the rule of law, and bringing those responsible for such crimes to justice are essential foundations for building a democratic, secure, and stable Syria based on justice and equal citizenship.
The council concluded by expressing sympathy for the victims, wishing the injured a swift recovery, and condemning those responsible for what it described as the terrorist attack.
