Delegation from the KNC Europe Representation Participates in Seminar Hosted by the Belgian Parliament

ARK News.. A delegation from the Europe Representation of the Kurdish National Council (KNC) in Syria, headed by Abdul Karim Haji, participated in a political seminar organized at the Belgian Parliament at the invitation of the Kurdistanis Community Center and the Ashti Association.

The seminar focused on the recent resolution adopted by the Belgian Parliament concerning the rights of the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan.

Several members of the Belgian Parliament attended the event and outlined the process through which the resolution was adopted, as well as ongoing efforts to promote a similar resolution at the European Parliament level addressing the rights of the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan, alongside the rights of other communities and minorities in Syria.

Speaking on behalf of the KNC Europe Representation, Abdul Karim Haji presented the council’s political vision for the future of Syria, emphasizing the need to constitutionally guarantee the rights of the Kurdish people and all other religious and ethnic components of Syrian society, including Yezidis, Chaldeans, Syriacs, Assyrians, and others, within a permanent Syrian constitution.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the delegation held a bilateral meeting with Belgian parliamentarians, during which it expressed its appreciation and gratitude to the Belgian Parliament for its support of the Kurdish cause in Syrian Kurdistan.

The participants also discussed the current situation of the Kurdish people and presented a number of observations regarding the policies of Syria’s interim government.

For their part, the Belgian parliamentarians expressed their appreciation for the political vision of the Kurdish National Council and stressed the importance of continuing such meetings to gain a closer understanding of ongoing developments in Syria.
