Masrour Barzani Stresses the Need to Activate the Kurdistan Parliament
ARK News.. Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and France across various fields. They also discussed the overall situation in Iraq and the region, and exchanged views on the importance of preserving the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
In another part of the talks, the Prime Minister stressed the necessity of activating the Kurdistan Parliament, resolving differences in a spirit of responsibility, and ending the political deadlock currently affecting the political process in the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides also underscored the importance of supporting the federal government in addressing security, economic, and financial challenges.
