Nechirvan Barzani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Exchange Views on Regional Developments
ARK News.. As part of his agenda at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met on Saturday evening, April 18, 2026, with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening cooperation between Turkey, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, and exchanged views on the ongoing changes in the region. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing cooperation and safeguarding regional stability.
In another aspect of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of expanding joint cooperation across various sectors, emphasizing that dialogue remains the most effective means to resolve crises and protect mutual interests.
For his part, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his appreciation to President Erdogan for his leadership and continuous efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and maintaining security and stability in the region.
Several other issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the meeting.
