Nechirvan Barzani: Newroz Is a Continuous Call for Unity and Resilience
ARK News.. .. President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, extended his congratulations on the occasion of Newroz and the Kurdish New Year.
In his message, Barzani conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Kurdish people everywhere, with special tribute to the families of martyrs, the Peshmerga forces, and all security personnel, wishing them peace, safety, and happiness.
He described Newroz as a profound expression of a long history of struggle and resilience, emphasizing that it symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and the renewal of life. He stressed that no force can extinguish the spirit of freedom in the Kurdish people.
Barzani noted that the Newroz flame represents an ongoing call for perseverance, unity, and solidarity in facing challenges. He highlighted the importance of protecting constitutional achievements and preserving the federal system and political entity of the Kurdistan Region as a legacy of sacrifice and struggle.
Addressing current regional conditions, he pointed to the complex and sensitive circumstances marked by the danger of war, stressing the shared responsibility to keep the Kurdistan Region and Iraq away from conflict. He affirmed that peace and the will for peace remain the strongest tools for building a better future.
On relations with the federal government, Barzani welcomed positive steps while underscoring that strengthening cooperation and coordination between Erbil and Baghdad—along with full implementation of the constitution and protection of all components’ rights—is the foundation for a stable and strong Iraq. He also called on citizens to exercise caution during holiday outings, adhere to traffic and safety guidelines, and protect the environment, emphasizing that preserving Kurdistan’s natural beauty is a national responsibility.
