Masrour Barzani Receives UK Cross-Party Parliamentary Delegation on Religious Freedom

ARK News.. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, received on Monday, February 16, 2026, a delegation from the United Kingdom’s All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for International Freedom of Religion or Belief, representing members from across political parties. The delegation was headed by Member of Parliament Jim Shannon, Chair of the group.

During the meeting, delegation members provided an overview of the group’s work and the objectives of their visit to the Kurdistan Region. They expressed strong appreciation for the climate of peaceful coexistence among the region’s diverse communities, as well as the broad scope of religious freedoms enjoyed there.

For his part, Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s steadfast commitment to promoting a culture of coexistence, safeguarding the rights of all components, and advancing the principles of freedom of thought and belief while strengthening tolerance across Kurdistan’s diverse society.
