ARK News.. Duhok Governor Ali Tatar announced the launch of a large-scale humanitarian campaign in Duhok to collect aid for those affected in Syrian Kurdistan, noting that the campaign will continue until next Monday.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Tatar said donation collection centers began operating on Wednesday across various areas of the governorate, with designated locations inside and outside cities set up to receive public contributions.

He confirmed that the campaign will accept new materials and goods only, in addition to financial donations.

Regarding financial support, Tatar explained that individuals wishing to make cash donations can do so through the official bank accounts announced by the Barzani Charity Foundation.

The governor also revealed that special donation boxes will be placed in all mosques starting Friday to collect contributions. He added that collection centers will remain open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Addressing the decision to limit in-kind donations to new items, Tatar said the relevant authorities will not accept used goods due to the lack of entities capable of properly receiving and distributing them. “If a person is unable to provide new materials, it is completely natural for them not to participate in this aspect of the campaign,” he said.

In closing, Ali Tatar expressed strong confidence in the people of the Kurdistan Region in general, and Duhok in particular, stressing that they will spare no effort in offering support and assistance. He voiced expectations of a broad humanitarian response reflecting the values of solidarity and fraternity.
