President Barzani Receives Phone Call from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa

ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani received a phone call on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
During the call, President al-Sharaa briefed President Barzani on the latest developments in Syria, noting that an agreement has been reached with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
For his part, President Barzani reaffirmed his supportive stance toward achieving peace, while stressing the necessity of protecting the rights of the Kurdish people and safeguarding their dignity.
