Masrour Barzani to Lead Government and Investment Delegation to Davos Forum

The head of the Kurdistan Region’s Investment Board confirmed that the Kurdistan Region’s participation in this year’s Davos Forum will be distinctive, with a high-level government and investment delegation led by Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, accompanied by 20 private-sector investors.
According to BassNews, Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Region Investment Board, stated on Sunday, January 18, 2026, that the Prime Minister will lead a delegation comprising representatives from the government and the Investment Board to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos. He noted that this year’s participation is marked by a strong presence of investors, reflecting the prime minister’s significant emphasis on the investment and trade sectors.
Shukri explained that the participation of this number of investors alongside the prime minister in international conferences and meetings constitutes direct support for the private sector and helps open new horizons for investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.
He added that participation in the Davos Forum represents a golden opportunity for the Kurdistan Region, given that the forum will host high-level political, economic, and social meetings, bringing the prime minister together with world leaders and international decision-makers.
Shukri noted that the participation aims to introduce global investors to investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region and encourage them to implement strategic projects in the region, stressing that the prime minister will personally follow up, from Davos, on the implementation of decisions and understandings reached during the forum.
