Death Toll of Children Rises in Iran Protests

ARK News.. “Hengaw”, a human rights organization monitoring Iran, reported that it has documented the deaths of seven additional children during protests that erupted across the country in recent days, bringing the total number of child fatalities to 21.

“Hengaw” identified the children who were killed as Amir Mohammad Arbabouri and Melina Asadi, both Kurdish children; Sam Afshari and Abolfazl Heydar Mouslou, both Turkish children; Mohammad Qasem Rousta from Lorestan; and two others, Mehrab Gulestani and Amir Salar Bahmaninejad. According to the organization, the children were killed by Iranian forces during large-scale protests in the city of Marvdasht, the provinces of Fars, Kermanshah, and Isfahan, as well as in the city of Karaj.

Last Thursday, “Hengaw” announced the killing of five Kurdish citizens in the capital, Tehran, by direct fire from Iranian forces. The organization also revealed the identities of 12 Kurdish citizens, including three women, who were killed during recent protests in Tehran.

Meanwhile, the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported on Wednesday that the overall death toll from the protests in Iran has risen to 2,571.

According to HRANA, it has verified the deaths of 2,403 protesters, 147 individuals affiliated with the government, 12 people under the age of 18, and nine civilians who were not participating in the protests
