High-Level Meeting Expected Between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan

ARK News.. Kurdish media sources report that the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) are set to hold a high-level meeting to discuss several pressing political issues.

According to Kurdistan24, the KDP and the PUK intend to convene a senior-level meeting in the coming days to address several key political files at both the regional and federal levels.

Sources said the meeting’s main agenda will focus on three core issues:

Presidency of the Republic: Efforts to reach a final agreement and consensus on a unified Kurdish candidate for the position of President of Iraq.

Kurdistan Regional Government: Discussions on practical steps and the next phases toward forming the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Relations with Baghdad: An assessment of the political landscape in the federal capital and coordination of joint positions between the two parties in their dealings with the federal government.

The sources indicated that the meeting is expected to take place either by the end of the current week or at the beginning of next week.
