ARK News.. The Barzani Headquarters has strongly condemned the unlawful act of vandalism involving the destruction and desecration of graves and headstones in the Christian cemetery in the city of Koya, which took place on December 3.

We strongly condemn the unlawful act of vandalism involving the destruction and desecration of graves and headstones in the Christian cemetery in Koya, committed on December 3, 2025.

This reprehensible act stands in stark contradiction to the values, customs, traditions, and the culture of coexistence, fraternity, and tolerance that our people uphold. It is an act alien to the social fabric of Kurdistan.

Relevant authorities must identify the perpetrators of this disgraceful act as soon as possible and impose the appropriate legal penalties. It is also essential to prevent the recurrence of such actions and any behavior that may target the culture of coexistence, peace, and harmony among the people of Kurdistan.
