U.S. Magazine Urges Trump Administration to Consider Supplying Kurdistan Region with Defensive Systems
ARK News.. A prominent American magazine has revealed that the recent attack on the Khor Mor gas field underscores the urgent need to equip the Kurdistan Region with defensive systems.
In its report, Forbes highlighted the attack that struck the Khor Mor gas field several days ago, noting that the incident caused an 80% power outage across cities in the Kurdistan Region.
The magazine stressed that the attack demonstrates the immediate necessity of deploying defensive systems in the region, especially given that the Kurdistan Region is a hub for major U.S. corporate investments and shares strategic interests with the United States.
According to Forbes, the attacks on the Kurdistan Region are “unjustified,” targeting civilian infrastructure and critical sites responsible for energy supply. While the Kurdistan Regional Government had succeeded in providing round-the-clock electricity to residents, the attack reduced power availability to only five hours per day. The magazine therefore called on the U.S. administration to seriously consider providing the region with defensive systems to protect its vital infrastructure and population from such provocative and unwarranted assaults.
The Khor Mor gas field, located within Chamchamal district in Sulaymaniyah province, was attacked at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26.
