Moscow and Ankara have agreed to coordinate ground operations in Syria
Ark News: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Moscow and Ankara agreed on Saturday to coordinate ground operations in Syria after Washington announced last week its decision to withdraw its troops.
Lavrov said after talks in Moscow with his Turkish counterpart Mouloud Gawish Oğlu that "an understanding has been reached on how the military representatives of Russia and Turkey will continue to coordinate their steps on the ground under new circumstances and within the vision of eradicating the terrorist threats in Syria."
For his part, Gawish Oğlu stressed that Turkey and Russia have a common goal which is to purge Syria of terrorist organizations, adding that his country will continue to work closely with Russia on Iran on the issues of Syria and the region.
