Donald Trump: Syrians Have High Energy, Their Country Deserves a Chance to Rebuild

ARK News.. U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that Syrians possess high energy and talent, and that their country deserves a genuine chance to rebuild and succeed.

President Trump emphasized that lifting sanctions on Syria would give it a real opportunity to prosper, expressing his desire to see Syria “rebuild itself.”

He added that “Syrians have high energy and talent,” noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also urged him to lift sanctions on Syria.

For his part, Netanyahu described the situation in Syria as undergoing a significant shift, stating: “Previously, Iran was running Syria, but today there is a real chance to achieve stability and peace in this country.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department announced on Monday the removal of “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” (HTS) from its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The decision, it said, was made in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Treasury under section 219(a)(6)(A) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the move, telling Reuters that lifting sanctions on HTS is a positive step toward correcting a policy that previously hindered constructive engagement.

In a written statement, the ministry expressed hope that this decision would help remove remaining restrictions affecting Syrian institutions and officials, and open the door to a rational, sovereignty-based approach to international cooperation.
