Families of Amouda Massacre Victims: The Blood Spilled Will Not Be Forgotten—We Will Continue the Struggle for Justice and Accountability

ARK News.. The Amouda Local Council of the Kurdish National Council in Syria today marked the 12th anniversary of the Amouda Massacre with a large public gathering that included residents, activists, civil society organizations, and representatives of various political parties. Participants gathered at the Sharmola Cemetery, where a memorial vigil was held to honor the victims.

Abdul Aziz Haj Qassim, head of the Amouda Local Council, delivered a speech highlighting the details of the massacre. He emphasized the need for justice to take its course and for the perpetrators to be held accountable according to the law.

Abdul Baqi Sayda, speaking on behalf of the victims’ families, stressed that the commemoration was not merely about remembering pain, but served as a clear message that the blood that was spilled will not be forgotten, and that “we will continue the struggle for justice and accountability.”

The ceremony also featured laying wreaths of flowers on the victims’ graves in tribute to their memory.
