U.S. Denies Plans to Establish a Military Base in Kobani
ARK News.. The United States has denied having any plans or intentions to establish a new military base in the city of Kobani, located in Syrian Kurdistan.
Sabrina Singh, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, addressed circulating reports about the alleged construction of a U.S. military base in Kobani, stating, "There is no plan to build a military base in Kobani."
Singh emphasized that U.S. troops are in Syria solely to ensure the enduring defeat of the terrorist organization ISIS. She clarified that there are no American troops currently stationed in Kobani and reaffirmed, "There is neither a plan nor an intention to establish a base in Kobani at this time. I am unsure of the source of these reports."
The Deputy Press Secretary also reiterated the United States' commitment to Syria's territorial integrity and the ongoing political stabilization process. She highlighted that achieving this goal is contingent upon the complete eradication of ISIS and other terrorist groups.
