Dire humanitarian conditions for displaced Kurdish families in Derik, with no support from PYD administration

ARK News.. Exclusive reports reveal that dozens of displaced Kurdish families from Afrin, who fled from Tabqa to the city of Derik in Syrian Kurdistan, are living in dire humanitarian conditions with no assistance provided by the PYD administration.

A source in Derik reported that 45 displaced Kurdish families, originally from Afrin, were forced to flee from Tel Rif’at to Raqqa and eventually to Derik following the takeover of Tel Rif’at by armed factions.

The source described the situation as heartbreaking, with the families enduring extreme cold in makeshift tents and a school building in Derik without any form of heating. The PYD administration has reportedly failed to provide even basic humanitarian aid to these families.

This crisis follows a broader displacement pattern, where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) compelled thousands of Kurdish families displaced from Afrin to relocate to Tabqa in Raqqa province, leaving many struggling to survive under harsh conditions.
