Ahmed Al-Shar’a Outlines Stages for Preparing Syria for Elections
ARK News.. Ahmed Al-Sharaa, head of the "Military Operations Administration," has outlined three key stages that Syria must undergo to prepare for suitable conditions for holding elections.
In an interview with BBC, Al-Shar’a emphasized that the first stage involves the new government assuming its responsibilities. The second stage entails organizing a comprehensive national conference inclusive of all Syrians, where critical issues such as dissolving the current constitution and parliament will be decided. During this stage, a consultative council would be formed to address constitutional and parliamentary voids until the conditions for elections are established.
Al-Shar’a stressed the importance of allowing the Syrian people to choose their representatives in the People's Assembly and Parliament, emphasizing the necessity of coexistence and mutual recognition within Syrian society. He also highlighted the potential for creating a social contract that ensures the protection of everyone's rights.
