Afrin: Continued support for returning displaced Kurdish families
ARK News.. A member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria has detailed the work plan of the Kurdish National Council in Syria and the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria to support displaced Kurdish families returning to their homes in Afrin.
Dr. Abdel Hakim Bachar, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria and Deputy Chairman of the Syrian National Coalition, published a joint report outlining efforts by the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria and the Kurdish National Council in Syria to assist families returning from Shahba camps.
According to the report, teams formed by the two organizations were deployed on Thursday, December 5, 2024, across several routes to aid the returning families.
The plan included the following routes:
Route 1
A team with seven large and medium trucks reached the villages of Um Hosh, Kafr Naya, and Tell Rif’at, bringing all returning families to Afrin by evening. Families were then relocated to villages such as Paneraka, Midan Akbas, Kafr Daleh Foqani, Deir Siwan, and Afrin city itself.
Route 2
A team with four trucks assisted families in the Ahraze village area, facilitating their return to Afrin and relocation to villages such as Ali Jara, Chaqala Wastani, and Ma’sarke.
Route 3
A team from the Shara town reached Maratte al-Muslimiya village near Aleppo with two trucks, transporting families to the Aljiya village in Shara, Afrin.
Route 4
Another team from Shara arrived in Tell Rif’at with three trucks, assisting families in returning to villages like Sinka, Deir Siwan, and Badina.
The report confirmed that on Thursday, December 5, 2024, approximately 300 displaced Kurdish families returned to their homes in Afrin.
These efforts reflect ongoing commitments to ensure the safe and dignified return of displaced families while addressing their immediate needs upon arrival.
