Abdul Wahhab Ahmed: PYD exploits displaced Kurds for Its partisan and ideological agendas
ARK News.. A member of the General Coordination Committee of the Kurdish Reform Movement – Syria has accused the Democratic Union Party (PYD) of exploiting displaced Kurdish civilians to serve its partisan and ideological agendas, which do not align with the interests of the Kurdish people or their cause.
In an exclusive statement to Ark News, Dr. Abdul Wahhab Ahmed, a member of the General Coordination Committee of the Kurdish Reform Movement – Syria, stated:
"I believe the PYD's efforts to pressure and forcibly move displaced Kurds from Afrin and Aleppo areas (Shahba, Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiya) to new camps in cities east of the Euphrates (Raqqa and Tabqa) reflect the party’s ongoing policy of exploiting the suffering of displaced Kurdish civilians for its partisan and ideological purposes. These actions fail to serve the Kurdish people or their cause, which lies in preserving their identity and geographical distinctiveness."
Dr. Abdul Wahhab Ahmed added that the plight of displaced Kurds will not end under the current circumstances facing Syria and the region.
He emphasized, "At a time when Syria is witnessing rapid military developments, the only viable direction for the people of these areas should be to encourage their return to their homes and properties in Afrin. Efforts must focus on ensuring their safe and dignified return through coordination with regional and international actors and relevant organizations. Additionally, humanitarian and relief organizations operating in the area should be urged to provide necessary services and living essentials for these displaced communities."
