ARK News.. After Donald Trump returned to the White House, the Syrian Negotiating Commission expressed its hope that the US President-elect will be able to stop the wars, achieve sustainable peace, and support the aspirations of the Syrian people.

Badr Jamous, head of the Syrian Negotiating Commission, said that "democracy has always been the key to the renaissance of peoples and nations, and perhaps the US presidential elections are one of the faces of democracy that the Syrian people are looking forward to and continue to be an essential part of their country's future."

He expressed his appreciation for "the democracy that this process represents, which expresses the opinion and will of the American people, and affirms the right of citizens to choose their leaders."

Jamous stressed: "We hope that Donald Trump will be able to implement his electoral program with merit regarding stopping the wars and achieving sustainable peace in the world, especially in the inflamed Middle East."

The head of the negotiating body pointed out that "we are all hopeful that President Trump's administration will support the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom and liberation from tyranny, achieve stability and security in Syria, work to end the Syrian tragedy that has been ongoing for 14 years, advance the political process in a way that achieves the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people, and work to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2254 sponsored by the United States."
