President Barzani receives the British Ambassador to Iraq

ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani received, on Wednesday, 6th of October, 2024, in Salahuddin resort, Mr. Stephen Hitchin, His Excellency the British Ambassador to Iraq.

Barzani's headquarters said during the meeting, which was addended by Mr. Andrew Paisley, the British Consul in Erbil; the British Ambassador to Iraq congratulated President Barzani on the successful Kurdistan Parliament elections, which were held in November and saw a high percentage of voters, conducted in a safe and peaceful environment.

The headquarters added that President Barzani expressed his gratitude to the people of Kurdistan for participating in the elections with such a great turnout.

The headquarters pointed out that the meeting focused on negotiations on the formation of the next government in the Kurdistan Region and its agenda.

The headquarters also added that President Barzani stressed the party does not veto anyone regarding the formation of the government, emphasizing the necessity that the talks should be in the framework of one region, one parliament, one government and one joint forces.

Finally, the exchange of views on the results of the US presidential elections and their reflections on global and regional issues and equations, as well as discussing the political situation in Iraq and the election of the new president of the Iraqi House of Representatives, were other topics of the meeting between the two sides.
