Afrin: Armed factions release 3 Kurdish youths for ransom
ARK News.. In ongoing incidents involving armed factions targeting Kurds in Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan, members of an armed group detained three Kurdish youths in the Shara town.
According to a source reported to ARK News, on October 5, 2024, gunmen from the Faylaq al-Sham detained three Kurdish men from the village of Dikmadashe in the Shara town.
The detained individuals are:
-Khabat Shawkat Horo, 40 years old
Agid Mohammed, 38 years old
Shiyar Mohammed Horo, 32 years old
The source reported that Agid was subjected to physical abuse and humiliation in front of his family after resisting arrest in his own home. This marks at least the second or third detention for these individuals.
The source added that they were all released on October 15, 2024, after a ransom of $1,000 USD was paid.
