Afrin: Al-Amshat gunmen assaults Kurdish citizens in Shiye town

Nov 01 2024

ARK News.. Continuing a pattern of violations against Kurds in Afrin’s villages and towns in Syrian Kurdistan, the Amshat faction recently assaulted Kurdish citizens in Shiye town in front of their families.

A source told ARK News that gunmen from the Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade, known as "Al-Amshat" and led by Muhammad Al-Jassim, attacked Kurdish citizens in the olive groves of Shiye town on October 24, 2024. The citizens assaulted included:

Mustafa Muhammad Habash, 75 years old
Izzat Mustafa Habash, 43 years old
Mustafa Rashid Mahmoud, 71 years old

The source explained that the assault occurred after these Kurdish citizens refused to take their olive harvest to the Ref’at Bajo and Tufeir press in Chaqala Tahtani village, as Abu Amsha, a prominent militia leader, claims a 3% share of the olive oil produced.
