The Syrian regime continues to arrest Syrians returning from Lebanon
ARK News.. Local sources confirmed that the Syrian regime has arrested dozens of Syrians returning from Lebanon into Syrian territory as a result of the Israeli escalation in Lebanon.
Local sources said that Syrians returning from Lebanon are being arbitrarily arrested by local gunmen who practice smuggling and work for the Fourth Division led by Maher al-Assad, the brother of the head of the Syrian regime.
According to the sources, 93 returnees from Lebanon have been arrested since the beginning of 2024.
According to the sources, wanted people by the Syrian regime prefer to return via smuggling routes, with smugglers and paying money instead of crossing security checkpoints in Syria.
The smugglers pledge to deliver returnees from Lebanon to the desired destination, especially the areas of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and armed factions.
