US Central Command launches airstrikes against ISIS sites in Syria

ARK NEWS.. US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it launched airstrikes against ISIS camps in Syria on Friday, as part of the International Coalition operations.

US Central Command said, on Friday, October 12, 2024, on its Facebook page: “US Central Command forces conducted a series of airstrikes against ISIS camps in Syria early on the morning of October 11.”

It added: “These strikes will disrupt ISIS’s ability to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against the United States, our allies, partners, and civilians throughout the region and beyond. Our assessment of the effects of these strikes is ongoing and there are no indications of civilian casualties.”

The United States has about 2,500 soldiers in Iraq and about 900 in neighboring Syria, as part of the coalition it established in 2014 to fight ISIS.
