Syria.. Israel targets Latakia Airport and Himeimim Russian Base

ARK News.. Lattakia International Airport and Himeimim Russian Military Base were subjected to an Israeli attack that led to a fire and the destruction of a weapons and ammunition warehouse inside the airport.

The "Syria TV" website said that Israeli raids targeted Latakia Airport, Himeimim Russian Military Base in Latakia countryside and other military sites on the Syrian coast at dawn on Thursday, October 3, 2024, hours after the arrival of an Iranian plane belonging to "Qashem Fars Air".

The source added that the Israeli bombing did not target the runways and towers at Himeimim Base and Latakia Civil Airport.

Himeimim Base is part of Latakia Civil Airport, as the base and airport share the runways, while the protection of the airport falls on the shoulders of Russian forces.

According to the source, the attack was carried out by the Air Force and Navy, targeting the airport with several missiles, two of which succeeded in hitting the targeted warehouse inside the airport, while Russian air defense systems and those affiliated with the regime forces intercepted the rest of the Israeli missiles.
