Lavrov: Implementation of the Adana Agreement between the Syrian regime and Turkey is impossible
ARK News.. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the United States is obstructing normalization between Turkey and the Syrian regime, and considered the implementation of the Adana Agreement concluded between the two sides in 1998 impossible.
Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, said during a press conference at the conclusion of his participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, on Saturday, September 29, 2024, that the activities of the United States in Syria constitute a "huge obstacle" to normalization between Turkey and the regime.
Lavrov added that the United States wants to do everything here as it pleases, ignoring the interests of both Turkey and Syria, and is present illegally on Syrian territory on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
The Russian Foreign Minister also accused the United States of extracting Syrian oil and harvesting and selling Syrian grain crops.
