Two young men lose their lives under torture in Saydnaya prison
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights network revealed that two young men lost their lives under torture in Saydnaya prison after two years of arbitrary detention.
RASD Syria for Human Rights Network said that it documented on September 21, 2024, the death of the two young men, Habis Nahhab al-Shaman and Uday Samih Abu Khashrif, under torture in Saydnaya prison after two years of arbitrary detention.
The Network added that the two young men were subjected to systematic torture in Saydnaya prison, which led to their deaths.
The Network also added that Habis Nahhab al-Shaman IS from the town of Sha’ara in the Lajat area in eastern countryside of Dar’a. Habis was a fighter in the armed opposition factions, and reached a settlement with the Syrian authorities. Despite this, the authorities later arrested him and tortured him to death.
Uday Samih Abu Khashrif is from Al-Shabraq town in western countryside of Dar’a Governorate. He was arbitrarily arrested without trial or charges, and was subjected to continuous torture that resulted in his death.
