ARK News.. The head of the Syrian Negotiating Body, Badr Jamous, asked the United States and Britain to push the Syrian file and move forward with the political solution in accordance with international resolutions.
The head of the Body stressed the need for the United States and Britain to continue supporting the Syrians in the north of the country and protecting them in the countries of asylum.
In a phone call with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Ethan Goldrich, Jamous spoke about "the inevitability of a political solution in accordance with international resolutions, and the need for the international community to combine its efforts to move this file".
Jamous stressed that "the Negotiating Body is making every possible effort at the local and international levels in order to reach tangible results towards a political solution."
The head of the Negotiating Body expressed his "conviction about the need for the international community to use all available tools to impose sanctions on the Syrian regime, and to activate mechanisms to hold it accountable for the crimes it has committed against the Syrian people and to comply with the relevant international resolutions."
In this regard, the American official stressed that the United States' firm support for reaching a just and comprehensive political solution in Syria, and the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 2254, which will achieve the Syrian people's aspiration for freedom and liberation from tyranny.
