ARK News.. The fires rose in northwestern Syria during the month of August, when the Syrian Civil Defense teams put out 383 fires,
The Syrian Civil Defense said that the fires included agricultural fields, residential houses, fuel refining stations, forests and camps.
The Civil Defense added that the fires were distributed in northwestern Syria, including 167 fires in an agricultural field and herbs, 75 fires in residential houses, 15 fires in refining and fuel sale stations, 48 fires in the forests, and 26 fires in the camps.
The Civil Defense confirmed that during August, the fires resulted in seven injuries, which included six men and one child.
The Civil Defense teams indicated that in the first half of this year they witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of fires that broke out in northwestern Syria, compared to the same period last year.
The Civil Defense continued that this increase in fires came as a result of the heavy rains in the region, which left heavy herbs that can be flammable, along with the heat wave that started early this year.
It is worth noting that during the first six months of this year 2024, the Civil Defense teams put out 2213 fires, an increase of about a thousand fires from the number of fires that erupted during the same period of the year 2023.
