ARK News.. The Syrian Civil Defence revealed that its teams responded to 798 traffic accidents in northwester Syria during the first half of 2024.

The Civil Defence reported in statistics published on Facebook that traffic accidents have become a threat to the lives of civilians in northwester Syria, and often cause serious injuries.

During the first half of this year, the Civil Defence recorded the death of 20 civilians, including 9 children, and the injury of 748, including 208 children, in 798 traffic accidents in the northwester regions of Syria.

This statistic includes attacks to which Syrian Civil Defense teams responded only.

The Syrian Civil Defence advises drivers to reduce speed, “which is considered a major cause of traffic accidents, especially on roads with many turns and intersections, and in crowded places in cities, towns, and camps.”

It also stresses "the necessity of not allowing children to drive motorcycles or cars, because they are among the most common and most dangerous causes of accidents."
