ARK News.. During the first day of his visit to Baghdad, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, President Masoud Barzani held extensive meetings that included important and decisive dialogues about the most important issues in Kurdistan, Iraq, and the region.

President Barzani began his meetings in Baghdad with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.

President Barzani and al-Sudani stressed, during the joint statement that followed the meeting, a constructive dialogue.

President Masoud Barzani expressed his happiness at meeting the Iraqi Prime Minister, and said: “My visit to Baghdad aims to strengthen the efforts made by the Prime Minister and led to a real breakthrough between the federal government and the region.”

President Barzani continued: “We held a constructive dialogue regarding the internal and regional situations, and our views were identical.”

For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, stressed the importance of President Masoud Barzani's visit to Baghdad, describing him as "an important national leader with a major role in the political process."

President Barzani held a meeting with the head of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, Judge Faiq Zaidan.

During the meeting, opinions and viewpoints were exchanged on the political situation in Iraq, relations between the parties, and the latest regional developments.

President Barzani met with the leaders of the State Administration Coalition, and during his meeting with the leaders of the State Administration Coalition, President Barzani stressed the necessity of resolving all outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

President Barzani also received the ambassadors of China, Russia, Britain, and France.

In the presence of President Masoud Barzani, the Coordination Framework held a meeting on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, during which it stressed the importance of unifying the national position in Iraq.

Today, Thursday, July 4, 2024, President Masoud Barzani met with Mohsen al-Mandalawi, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Baghdad city.

During the meeting, the Acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament expressed his appreciation for the status and historical role of President Barzani in the Iraqi political process, expressing his hope that President Barzani’s presence would contribute to addressing Iraq’s crises and problems.

For his part, President Barzani indicated the presence of good intentions on the part of the political parties, and stressed the need to take dialogue as a firm and solid basis for resolving differences.

During the meeting, they also discussed choosing a new speaker for the Iraqi Council of Representatives and a group of other issues related to the Iraqi governorates.

Today, Thursday, in Baghdad, President Barzani received the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani.

During the meeting, they discussed the political situation in Iraq and the situation in the southern provinces, as well as the results of President Barzani’s visit to Baghdad.

Emphasis was also placed on coordination and joint work between the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, Basra and the rest of the Iraqi governorates in the field of projects and public services.

Today, Thursday, President Masoud Barzani received a joint delegation of ambassadors from 8 Arab countries in Baghdad.

The delegation included the Ambassador of Kuwait, Tariq Abdullah al-Faraj, the Ambassador of Qatar, Sultan Mubarak al-Kubaisi, the Ambassador of Egypt, Ahmed Samir Helmi, the Ambassador of Bahrain, Khalid Ahmed al-Mansour, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Mahmoud al-Kharusi, Zaid Abu Hassan, Charge d’Affaires of the Jordanian Embassy in Iraq, and Saeed al-Qahtani, Charge d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Iraq, and Mohammed Saleh al-Taniji, Charge d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Iraq.

In the meeting, President Barzani briefed the guest delegation on the political situation in Iraq, the reasons and motives for his visit to Baghdad, and the meetings and discussions with political parties to resolve issues and remove obstacles and crises, which in itself will affect the political situation in Iraq, and the stability of Iraq and the region.

President Barzani highlighted the issue of the presence of Coalition forces in Iraq, and said that this issue must be based on a national consensus, taking into account the interests of Iraq and the region.

In another part of the meeting, the Arab ambassadors expressed their hope that President Barzani's visit to Baghdad would bring goodness and stability to Iraq, and they also stressed that their countries will support all of Iraq to enhance the security, stability and well-being of Iraqi citizens.
