Amidst a large crowd... The Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria commemorates the Kobani massacre
ARK News… The Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria commemorated the ninth anniversary of the Kobani massacre, “The Night of Treachery,” in Erbil city, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
In the presence of representatives of political and youth parties and activities, the Barzani Charity Foundation, civil society organizations, children of martyrs and victims, and a large gathering of Syrian Kurdistan refugees, a ceremony commemorating the ninth anniversary of the Kobani massacre took place.
The ARK correspondent said: The ceremony began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, followed by the showing of a film about the events and developments of the massacre.
He added that the poet and writer Roni Ali gave a speech about the massacre, which he concluded by reciting a poem about the tragedy of the event. Pointing out that a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, Ibrahim Biro, gave a speech about the anniversary, and a speech from the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria was delivered by a member of the Central Committee, Hanan Sido.
Sido said in his speech: We remember with deep pain this massacre, at a time when our people are suffering from violations and abuses in Syrian Kurdistan, starting from Afrin to Derik.
He continued that the massacre came as revenge for the liberation of the city from the grip of ISIS terrorists at the hands of the heroic Peshmerga who came to support the city, with a historic decision by President Masoud Barzani.
He stressed that the best solution to stand up to all the conspiracies hatched against our people is to cling to the land of our fathers and grandfathers and return to our hometown.
He added that the perpetrators are still free and the criminals must be brought to justice and fair courts.
On behalf of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, he thanked all the attendees, including party representatives, events, and the large crowd who responded to the party’s call and participated in the commemoration.
Nine years have passed since the “Night of Treachery” massacre in Kobani, a horrific anniversary in the history of the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan and Syria in general, in which hundreds of Kurdish civilians, including children, women and the elderly, were killed at the hands of ISIS terrorists, and mystery still surrounds the massacre, and how ISIS terrorists entered and carried out the crime against innocent people.
