After her father was killed under torture, Maryam Kamalmaz calls for the Syrian regime to be held accountable
ARK News… Maryam Kamalmaz, the daughter of American citizen and humanitarian activist Majd Kamalmaz, called for the Syrian regime to be held accountable, after her father was killed under torture in the Syrian regime’s prisons.
Maryam said in her speech: “It is our turn to hold the Syrian regime accountable for all the violations it has committed against our loved ones and against innocent people.”
Maryam Kamalmaz added: "As you know, there was no case against my father, nor any crime. He did not commit any crime. There was no trial. He was killed at the hands of the Syrian regime, and there are thousands, even hundreds of thousands, like him."
She stressed: "It is time to spread awareness. I know that a lot of awareness has been spread in this regard, but we also have to be held accountable, and this leads us to the law against normalization with the Assad regime."
She added, "I cannot believe the fact that we agree to normalize our relationship with such a corrupt and notorious regime, a regime that has killed hundreds of thousands. We cannot allow this to happen."
Maryam Kamalmaz, daughter of Majd Kamalmaz, an American doctor of Syrian origin, announced in May 2024 that her father had been killed in the prisons of the Syrian regime, after a detention that lasted for about 7 years.
In mid-February 2017, the doctor went to visit one of his relatives suffering from cancer in Syria. After entering Syrian territory, he had no news from his family, and then intelligence reports appeared about his arrest by the Assad regime.
