Elements at the regime's checkpoints impose royalties on the people of Deir Ez-Zour
ARK News… On the first day of Eid al-Adha, the elements of Syrian regime checkpoints within the areas under its control imposed royalties in the city of Deir Ez-Zour, under the name of “Tipping”
According to the Syrian Observatory, financial fees were imposed on civilians, on Sunday, June 16, 2024, as they passed through the regime’s military checkpoints, including the entrance checkpoint to the city of Deir Ez-Zour, the Al-Baloum checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Al-Mayadeen, and the checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Al-Bokmal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez-Zour.
It added, this caused traffic congestion in the aforementioned cities, amid widespread dissatisfaction among civilians as a result of these checkpoints being exploited.
Last year, coinciding with the approaching Eid al-Adha, elements of the regime’s “Fourth Division” checkpoint stationed at the Al-Mayadeen crossing imposed financial taxes on civilians under the name of “Tipping.”
