Bueno: The Syrian crisis remains a priority for the European Union

ARK News… In conjunction with the launch of the Eighth Brussels Conference on “The Future of Syria and the Region,” the European Union’s official spokesman for the Middle East and North Africa region confirmed that support for the Brussels Conference aims for a political solution in Syria in accordance with Security Council Resolution No. 2254.

Luis Miguel Bueno, the official spokesman for the European Union for the Middle East and North Africa, said in statements to the Kingdom of Jordan channel that the meeting, which will receive the recommendations of the “Dialogue Day,” aims to mobilize vital financial support in order to meet the growing needs of Syrians inside Syria and in their host countries.

Luis Miguel Bueno explained that the conference aims to renew the international community’s support for a political solution to the Syrian crisis in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2254.

He stressed that the conference is considered the "largest event" at the international level organized by the European Union regarding the "Syrian crisis" to mobilize international support for Syrians and their host communities.

Bueno continued that the "Syrian crisis" remains a priority for the European Union despite the accumulation of current crises, noting that holding the eighth edition of the Brussels conference is "the best evidence of that."

During the Seventh Brussels Conference, the international community pledged to secure approximately 5.6 billion euros for the year 2023 and beyond, including more than 3.8 billion euros pledged by the European Union and its member states.
