During an interview on Syria TV, Samuel Warburg, regional spokesman for the US State Department, said that his country has not changed its policy on the Syrian file, and is focusing on its priorities in this regard, including not normalizing relations with the Syrian regime.
Warburg added that the Syrian file is still important, and the US State Department does not usually comment on what is related to the adoption of laws within the US Congress, after talking about efforts made by the administration of President Joe Biden to obstruct the law against normalization with the Syrian regime.
The regional spokesman for the US State Department indicated that the State Department and the executive branch are in constant contact with Congress regarding US policy towards Syria, and there is nothing new to be announced.
