ARK News… Immediately after he left the “asylum application” interview with the French Consulate in Beirut, to obtain asylum approval in France, the Lebanese Information Branch arrested media activist Muhannad al-Zou’bi.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the Lebanese Information Branch arrested Syrian media activist Muhannad al-Zou’bi on April 24, 2024, immediately after he left a second “asylum application” interview with the French Consulate in Beirut, to obtain asylum approval in France.

According to the Syrian Observatory, al-Zou’bi was forced to leave Daraa to Lebanon through smuggling after his house was bombed by drones.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, al-Zou’bi conducted an interview with the French Consulate, accompanied by his wife and children, on December 19, 2023, in response to his request for asylum in France, which was rejected.

The Syrian Observatory revealed that during his stay in Lebanon, the Information Branch in Lebanon invited him to attend, but he refused for fear of arrest, and that al-Zou’bi’s family expressed their fears of his being handed over to the Syrian regime.
