ARK News… The number of people seeking medical assistance has increased in areas controlled by the Syrian regime due to the high prices of medicines and surgical procedures.

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted sources in charitable organizations in Damascus as saying that some people need simple operations, others need high-cost operations, and others need inspections that cost up to one hundred thousand liras.

The source said that large numbers of patients are requesting medicine, because they are unable to buy it, after simple prescriptions for the medicine began to cost more than one hundred thousand liras in pharmacies.

On the other hand, doctors warned of the leakage of a large number of nursing staff in government hospitals, which had a “negative” impact on the work of hospitals and patient service.

In turn, the head of the Nursing, Medical and Health Professions Syndicate in Syria, Yusra Malil, attributed the leakage of nursing staff to the lack of financial income and the lack of protection for the nurse.
