More than a thousand civilians were arrested by the regime in the immigration and passport departments

ARK News… The Syrian Network for Human Rights confirmed that the Syrian regime arrested 1,168 civilians in immigration and passport departments during their review.

The network said in a report that, from March 2011 until February 2024, it documented at least 1,912 cases of arrest, including 21 children and 256 women, and 193 cases of people who had previously settled their security status. They were arrested in the regime’s detention centers while they were there for a procedure. Transactions in the immigration and passport departments in several Syrian governorates.

According to the report, the Syrian regime released 723 of them, and 21 of them died due to torture and neglect of health care inside detention centers, while 1,168 people, including 16 children and 96 women, remained in detention centers, and 986 of them were subjected to enforced disappearance.
